According to MDNR, Granuband Macon violated the waste management laws having conducted operations at its facility since March 2006 without a proper processing permit, while the other charges included violations related to the storage of tires and waste materials at the site.

The legal action has been taken following the failure on the part of Granuband to pay penalty and take corrective action at its waste processing facility as per a settlement worked out between MDNR and Granuband in 2009 to resolve the violations.

MDNR enforces Missouri’s Solid Waste Management Law that oversees the management of waste to avoid posing risk to public health and environment and refers case to the attorney general’s office for legal action if the responsible party is unwilling or unable to cooperate.
