The contract has been awarded by Tauron Group subsidiary Elektrocieplownia Tychy, in line with its production capacity reconstruction program.

The program focuses on the necessity to increase the share of renewable energy production and to adapt to the new, sharp emission requirements of the EU that will come into force in 2016.

Tauron Group management board vice president Joanna Schmid said Metso was chosen through the public procurement procedure to execute the task due to their service expertise and project management in this area.

Tauron Group is engaged in all key segments of the energy market, and generates electricity from renewable sources through the operation of 35 hydroelectric power plants.

Metso is a global supplier of sustainable technology and services
