The reconstruction is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

Metso’s automation system will enable the plant to channelize all its functions through a single source. The technology and services supplier will also provide overspeed and machine protection.

The Hollala plant, after reconstruction, will be controlled remotely from the Kymijarvi power plant located 15km away. The Kymijarvi plant already uses Metso DNA automation system.

Communication between the two plants will take place within the automation system without the need of a separate remote control system. All the information from the turbine can be viewed in the Kymijärvi main control room.
