Under the contract, Metso will supply reliable valve solutions, which feature high control performance and control accuracy required for extracting geothermal energy from the heat of the earth.

Located in Manisa-Alasehir, about 560km southwest of Ankara, the geothermal power plant is scheduled to commence operations in October 2015.

Zorlu Energy operates the Manisa-Alasehir geothermal area with wide untapped resources until 2040.

Metso will also supply control and on-off valves, comprising almost 100 butterfly, globe, segment and ball valves ranging from 1” to 54” in size from the Neles, Neles Globe and Jamesbury product portfolios.

Additionally, the company is responsible for site services and spares, as part of the contract.
