The joint venture (JV) firm will provide flue gas treatment solutions to remove PM2.5 particulate matter and other airborne pollutants emitted by coal-fired power plants and other sources.

The new company, dubbed Zhejiang Feida MHPS High-Efficiency Flue Gas Cleaning Systems Engineering, aims to start operations this autumn with head office in Hangzhou.

The installed capacity of Chinese coal-fired power plants, to which about 20% of PM2.5 generation sources is reported to be attributable, is around 750GW.

China intends to increase coal-fired power generation capacity by 50GW to 60GW annually.

MHPS owns technologies and products that can eliminate hazardous material from flue gas emitted by coal-fired power plants.

FEIDA has about 40% share of the electrostatic precipitators (ESP) market in China and owns several advanced technologies related to ESP.

MHPS said it will support the new JV’s business development, and contribute to China’s efforts to address environmental issues by expanding its partnership with FEIDA.
