The 4MW power project is located in the Honduran Department of Olancho and its construction is expected to begin in 2012.
The company said that this approval from the local municipality is an important step in the process in securing congressional approval for the power project.
Earlier this year, Minerco Resources entered into an agreement to acquire the Iscan project from Energetica de Occidente.
