MOL’s wholly owned subsidiary Matyushkinskaja Vertikal drilled a successful exploration well in southern sector of the Ledovoye prospect. The Ledovaya-101 well reportedly discovered promising oil potential at a depth of 2,650m.
MOL has carried out 3D seismic survey of the discovery area. After detailed analysis and interpretation of the survey’s results, MOL is expected to accelerate its exploration and appraisal activity with further drilling of new prospects.
In April 2007, MOL acquired the full ownership of the Matyushkinskaya Vertikal Company, achieving the rights for both the exploration and production in the Matyushkinskiya block.
