The Shreveport facility, which has an annual capacity of around 450 million pounds, will continue to source Northern White frac sand from CRS Proppants going forward.
Momentive Specialty Chemicals executive vice president and Epoxy, Phenolic and Coating Resins division president Jody Bevilaqua said the acquisition provides immediate capacity for the company to meet the growing demand for oilfield products and to expand the breadth and depth of valued customer partnerships.
"We are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Shreveport facility and continued growth of our specialty chemical portfolio," Bevilaqua added.
Momentive Specialty Chemicals Oilfield Technology Group senior vice president Jerry Borges said, "In addition to expanding our capacity, we believe this acquisition is strategic and enhances our integrated asset network."
The company’s Oilfield Technology Group, which is a provider of technologies for the oil and gas industry, provides production chemicals for foam control and demulsification, as well as hydrogen sulfide scavengers for crude oil and natural gas production.
