Wu Shengxue, vice director of Jiuquan NDRC, said that the preparation work for the wind project has been completed. The NDRC will assist in constructing 750 kV power grid project and complete it in 2010.
Gansu province proposed the Jiuquan wind power project at the end of 2007 and received approval at the beginning of 2008. The country will allow the wind power project to build capacity of 5 million kW by 2010 and 12 million kW by 2015.
Gansu province has wind power reserves of 237 million kW, which accounts for 7.3% of the country’s total. Gansu had an installed capacity of 510,000 kW of wind power as of the end of 2007.
