Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR is a nationwide campaign that encourages all residents of US to fight against global warming. With projected greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions already reduced by over 25 million pounds in 2009, New Jersey is almost half way to reach its objective of reducing over 40 million pounds of GHG emissions by the end of 2009.

The campaign is off to a great start in New Jersey, and there is still plenty of time to be a part of these efforts, said BPU President Jeanne M. Fox. I encourage all residents, businesses and municipalities to take steps, like using energy efficient lighting, appliances and electronics. These products save energy, reduce utility bills, and help fight global warming.

The additional efforts have included the launch of the Green New Jersey Resource Team. This team is an association of statewide community groups that distributes 500,000 ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and teaches New Jersey residents about energy-efficient lighting. The team includes EFI, GreenFaith/Globe Electric, Green Market Fundraising, HelpLightNJ, One Change/Project Porchlight, and TechniArt.
