The automobiles allowed at the Statesboro facility will be crushed and shipped to the company’s auto shredder in Savannah.

We welcome the opportunity to become a part of the community of Statesboro, with our recent acquisition of Whitaker Motors, says Richard Riley, manager of Strategic Development for Newell Recycling, LLC. We believe this purchase gives us the ability to develop new business in key regions that support our shredders in Atlanta and Savannah, while providing jobs to members of the community.

The Statesboro location is also beneficial because it permits the company to expand its coverage area when compared to Savannah. The location is close to some light manufacturing facilities, as well as some smaller salvage yards, which the company expects to work with to help feed the company’s larger yard in Savannah.

Newell Recycling is a US-based processor of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.
