The country is planning to use coal as a resource in order to diversify its eletricity generation and also to meet its plan to produce 30%of electricity from coal-fired facilities by 2015.
PTFP chairman Simeon Atakulu was quoted by Vanguard as saying that decisions on coal-fired plants should be taken quickly to ensure power stability in the country.
Atakulu has also stressed that other power generation from other alternative sources such as solar, biomass and wind should be implemented without much delay.
According to Nigeria Minister of Mines and Steel Development Musa Sada producing power from different sources will help the country avoid electricity shortages and dependence on only a few sources.
