Jonathan said “The government is, based on this discovery (gas insufficiency), working through the Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the oil and gas producers, the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) as well as other stakeholders in the industry to ensure adequate gas supply to the Power plants.”
He added “We have 5,000 Megawatts capacity at the moment but the gas needed to power this is insufficient. Gas supply at the moment is below half of what is needed to make the 5,000 MW available.”
