As per the contract, Nordex will supply five N100/2500 and four N90/2500 turbines for the Mynydd Bwllfa wind farm as well as provide premium service for a period of 15 years.

Nordex claims its N90/2500 and N100/2500 turbines will generate around 60GWh of electricity annually, with annual average wind speeds of 8.6m/s at this rugged highland site.

Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in October 2014 with commercial operations set to start in 2015.

Located in South Wales near the town of Hirwaun, the project will generate enough clean electricity to power around 15,000 homes in this region when complete.

Nordex management board member Lars Krogsgaard said the latest contract for the company’s technology from the existing customer in the UK is of great importance.
