Under the GFA, the team will establish units 3&4 at Kudankulam nuclear power plant (KKNPP) in the Tirunelveli district of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India.
NPCIL has also signed an early works agreement with Westinghouse Electric Company for acquiring technical information about AP-1000 reactors.
Currently, NPCIL is conducting techno-commercial discussions with Areva, France, General Electric Hitachi Nuclear Energy International (GEH) and Westinghouse Electric Company (WEC) to arrive at project proposals for construction of nuclear power plants.
The conclusion of agreements will be subject to the techno-commercial proposals being satisfactory and viable.
