S. K. Jain, head of NPCIL, said Russia has yet to supply 600 metric tons of pipelines, and also various fixtures, with some equipment expected to arrive in November 2009 and some not until the first quarter of 2010.
According to Jain, inserting the fuel as early as December 2009 will be impossible, and expressed doubt that the first reactor can be ready in the first quarter of 2010 and the company will try to give an exact date in September 2009.
As per December 2008 agreement with New Delhi, Russia is to construct an additional four reactors for the plant, where it is completing two reactors under an earlier contract, and commence construction of new nuclear plants.
