The plant is operated by FENOC Nuclear Operating and is located about 35 miles northeast of Cleveland.

Workers at the plant identified an increase in radiation levels in their work area, as they tried removing a source range monitor during a refueling outage last week.

The area was evacuated due to presence of higher than expected levels of radiation.

NRC will determine human performance factors which may have contributed to the event and evaluate the actual radiological consequences including exposure to the workers.

The report is expected to be available within 45 days of the completion of the inspection.
