As an associated partner of Desertec, Nur Energie will focus on contributing its knowledge and experience in solar project development in the Maghreb region.
Nur Energie is already in the advanced stages of developing a Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) project in Greece, and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) project on the roofs of the Port of Marseille in France.
Till Stenzel, chief operating officer of Nur Energie, said: “We have been analyzing the commercial opportunity for solar export projects from North Africa to Europe for the past two years and we firmly believe that they are a commercially viable option for a greener energy future that is less dependent on volatile fossil fuels, as well as creating jobs and economic development opportunities across the Maghreb region.”
