Under the contract, Ocean Installer will be responsible for the offshore construction of the Aje Ph1 project off the coast of Nigeria.

The contract work also includes mooring buoy installation and hook up, flowline and umbilical installation.

Ocean Installer plans to use construction support vessel Normand Vision for offshore operations which are scheduled to commence in Q1 2016.

The company will provide engineering service for the project from its offices in Stavanger, Norway; Aberdeen, UK, and Houston, US.

Folawiyo Aje Services is serving as technical advisor to Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum, which is operator of the Aje field with 60% stake.

A joint venture of Chevron Nigeria Deepwater, Vitol Exploration Nigeria, Panoro Energy, Energy Equity Resources and Jacka Resources owns the remaining 40% stake in the field.

Located OIL Mining Lease 113 (OML 113) in the Benin Basin, about 24km offshore of western Nigeria, the Aje field is estimated to hold gross contingent resources of 380 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) of which 28% is oil/condensate, 20% LPG and 52% gas.

The field, which is situated in water depths of about 24km offshore of western Nigeria, is expected have a peak production capacity of 50,000-80,000 boe a day.
