The power station, jointly owned by Dominion Virginia Power and ODEC, has two Westinghouse pressurized water reactors.
ODEC owns an 11.6% undivided interest in and share of the power generated by the North Anna units 1 and 2.
Dominion Virginia Power said that it is not changing its position on the new nuclear unit at the power station.
According to Dominion, ODEC’s decision to withdraw from the nuclear plant expansion project does not affect the agreement between the companies on the operating units.
The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission is currently reviewing Dominion’s application to build and operate the North Anna Unit 3.
