Average daily production by the end of March 2009 accounted to 786,700 barrels versus 714,800 barrels during March 2008, up 6.1%. However, the average price of Oman’s oil decreased by 48.6% during the first three months 2009, as it stood at $44.95, compared with $87.43 during the first three months in 2008, according to the bulletin. The statistics indicate that China topped Oman’s oil importing nations during the first three months of 2009 (18.8 million barrels), followed by Korea (9.45 million barrels).

Oman’s gas production during the first three months of 2009 was down by 0.9% to 170.8 million cubic feet compared with 172.4 million cubic feet by the end of the third quarter in 2008.
