The solar and wind projects will provide enough electricity to power about 280,000 homes or a community the size of Windsor each year.

The renewable projects will also help attract nearly $3bn in new private-sector investment to the province, OPA said.

These projects will be brought online through the Bruce to Milton reinforcement project, Ontario’s transmission project.

The government is replacing dirty, coal-fired plants with clean, renewable energy like water, wind, solar and bio-energy.
