Smartway is the industry and EPA’s collaborative framework that assess environmental and energy efficiency of goods movement supply chains.

The US based overnight package delivery service provider will now become a contributor to the Partnership’s savings that include 1.5b gallons of fuel costing $3.6b, 14.7 MMT of carbon dioxide (CO2), 215,000 tons of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and 8,000 tons of particulate matter.

OnTrack Director of Fleet Operations Steve Heron said, "Becoming a SmartWay partner demonstrates our commitment to operate responsibly by reducing our carbon footprint through improved fuel efficiencies and emissions reductions."

Smartway currently has 3000 partners in its ranks and was started back in early 2003 though the program debuted in 2004.

OnTrack stated the partnership allows partners access to SmartWay tools and practices that allow to track and reduce emissions apart from contributing to reduction of fuel use.
