The solution will be formed using Xtensible’s MD3i Framework, utilizing on core Oracle technologies within Oracle Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse portfolios.

With the use of Oracle technology and infrastructure, the two companies are working together to develop an advanced analytics and Big Data solution.

Oracle Utilities Industry Strategy VP Brad Williams noted, "Oracle is delighted to be working with Xtensible Solutions to develop a utility standards-based analytics data model founded on proven Oracle technologies, which can enable utilities worldwide to drive value from smart grid investments."

Xtensible vice president Terry Saxton said that with a data model based on CIM standards could help utilities to achieve information interoperability across their enterprise.

"Without a CIM standards-based utility data model, the user is faced with the need for data conversion between proprietary formats at every step and the attendant risks of data inconsistency and errors," Saxton added.
