This was made in respect to the partial award granted by International Court of Arbitration at Hague.

The 10-member official team of India that visited their neighboring country to discuss the water disputes has referred the award terms to their lawyers and is awaiting response.

Discussions also included other three hydro projects of India – Rattle, Miyar and Kalnai on the western rivers in Indian ruled Kashmir.

During the meeting, Pakistan raised objections to the projects that are located in disputed land of Jammu and Kashmir, while India defended it.

However, Pakistan claims that through 48MW Kalnai hydroelectric project India could divert the flows of Lower Kalnai River in Kistwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in February 2013, the court upheld India’s right to divert water from the Kishanganga River for power generation by KHEP.

The KHEP is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric project located near Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir.
