Developed by Fauji Fertiliser Company Energy Limited (FFCEL) the farm is already connected to the national grid and supplied 2GWh of energy to the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), reported The News.

FFECL wind farm project director Brigadier Tariq Izaz elaborated that the farm consists of 33 turbines, each with a 1.5MW capacity, and the company invested $134m for its development.

"The commencement of commercial operations means we will start the supply of 143.6 GWhs to the national grid, which we are bound to provide to NTDC within a year," added Izaz.

According to the company, only 30% of the total allocated land has been employed for the current farm with further expansion planned for the future.
