The company is due to receive the Source and Byproduct Material License (SML) on the 31 March 2014, which marks the conclusion of the licensing process for the Lance Projects, and significantly complete full construction and commence uranium production.

The SEIS analyses the environmental effects RPA’s proposed action, the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and mitigation measures to either reduce or avoid adverse effects of the proposed action.

Impacts assessed involve land use; historical and cultural resources; visual and scenic resources; climatology, meteorology and air quality; geology, minerals and soils; water resources; ecological resources; socioeconomics; environmental justice; noise; traffic and transportation; public and occupational health and safety; and waste management.

Peninsula executive chairman Gus Simpson said, "With the grant of the SML, expected shortly, Peninsula will have concluded the licensing process and have a clear path to production."
