The approximately $300,000 project will replace aging pipe dating back to the 1950s.

Starting this week, crews will install nearly 600 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Norma Lane between North Hills Drive and Natalie Lane.

The company expects to complete the new main installation, testing and disinfection, connecting customers' service lines and final paving restoration by the end of November.

Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction hours, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes.

During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.

This project comes on the heels of new water main installation that began in September along Hamilton and Tyler Streets in Norristown.
