Scheduled to commence in June 2014, the rebuilding work seeks to replace existing infrastructure, support future load growth and also maintain the company’s commitment to safe, reliable electric service.

Measuring 9.9 miles in length, the right-of-way for the transmission line serves Beltsville, Berwyn Heights, Colesville, College Park, Langley Park, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, as well as a small portion of Norwood, US.

Reconstruction is scheduled to be carried out with minimal noise impacts over the next one year.

Despite work taking place along the transmission path and at the affected substations, Pepco will however build temporary stabilized construction entrances to connect roadways to the project area, and reduce any community impact.

The company is also holding a public meeting at Davis Hall, located at 9217 51st Avenue in Maryland, on 10 September 2013, to brief the community about all project phases in a timely manner.
