Under the contract, secured through a competitive bidding process, Pepco Energy Services will install a building management system, direct digital controls and HVAC upgrades at the 850,000sqft facility.

The project, which is funded by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act capital, will assist the DC government in achieving its energy reduction and conservation goals in addition to creating the equivalent of 16 full-time construction jobs.

Pepco Energy Services, which began construction in early August, expects to complete the project within 18 months.

Pepco Energy Services president and CEO John Huffman said that Pepco Energy Services is extremely pleased to have been chosen to implement the One Judiciary Square retrofit project.

“The One Judiciary Square retrofit project demonstrates the DC government’s commitment to increasing the district’s energy efficiency and we look forward to continuing a successful partnership with the city,” Huffman said.
