Following the agreement, PSO would become the exclusive supplier of furnace oil and HSD to all power stations of NPGCL, including thermal power station, Muzaffargarh, natural gas power station, Piran Ghaib, Multan, and steam power station, Nishatabad, Faisalabad.
Tahir Cheema, managing director of PEPCO, said that the long term fuel supply agreement would help in establishing consistency and smoothness in the operations of both the companies.
The move is expected to allow both the parties to manage the demand and supply of the energy requirement of the country in the backdrop of present energy crisis.
