Petrobras president Maria das Graças Silva Foster is among the 200 figures who have been most influential in the world of business over the last 25 years. In the coming months, the list compiled by the American television broadcaster CNBC will be narrowed down to 25 people – a reference to the channel’s 25th anniversary. Selection will be done directly by viewers through the website www.cnbc.com/25.

Among the consultants participating in the selection process are Herminia Ibarra, from the INSEAD Business School, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, from Yale University, and former managing editor of the Wall Street Journal, Paul Steiger. The criterion for selection was the figures’ influence on significant changes in the world of business, commerce, management or human behaviour that have contributed to global change.

CNBC is a cable television channel specialising in business, and belongs to the American television group NBC.
