The company said that there is stock available of the main products to supply the market. The refinery’s units were shutdown preventively on account of the procedures carried out to fight a small fire that broke out in the main powerhouse substation on February 28. The fire was was later extinguished. There were no injuries or damage to the environment.

The company added that resuming operations at the powerhouse and activating the interconnection to the Governador Leonel Brizola Thermoelectric Plant (previously called Termorio) to receive steam and electric power was given priority.

Till now, the electrical interconnection has been partially reestablished, allowing the powerhouse, the generator of which is in operation in order to allow products to be pumped immediately to the distributors, to be started-up. The Water Treatment Station is also already running normally, the company said.
