The agreement allows both the companies to improve their operating techniques in deepwater production, oil and gas processing and other related processes. The companies intend to use their expertise in deepwater exploration and production activities while collaborating on the agreement.
The agreement gives continuity to the previous separate agreements Petrobras held with Statoil and Norsk Hydro. After the merger of the two companies in October, Petrobras continued sharing technologies with the new corporation.
