The Chinese company said that this plan is in line with the company’s strategy of meeting rising demand in the country, Bloomberg reported.

The facility will process 1.6 million metric tons of crude in the next month, or 378,300 barrels a day.

According to the company, the plant had refined 368,900 barrels of crude oil per day in April.

The refining plant processed 4.86 million tons of crude in the first quarter, or 395,800 barrels a day, including 1.33 million tons of Russian crude.

China National Petroleum, parent of PetroChina, said that it will dispose 13% additional fuel in the second quarter compared with a year earlier to meet farmers’ consumption.
