Work on the project’s Gazelle field in Block C1-202 will be carried out by Petrofac’s Engineering & Consulting Services (ECS) team based in Woking, UK, on behalf of Rialto Energy and Société Nationale d’Opérations Pétrolières de la Côte d’Ivoire (PETROCI).

Being the operator of the block, Rialto holds an 85% interest while PETROCI holds the remaining.

ECS Woking general manager Martin Barnes said in carrying out this work they are also able to draw on the extensive capability of their subsea pipeline consulting and engineering services business, KW Ltd, which differentiates and adds significant value to their offer.

"Strategically, the project also represents an important offshore reference for us in the West African market," Barnes said.

Petrofac expects the contract to be completed in October 2012.

Award of the early engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning contracts for both the offshore platform and offshore and onshore pipelines will be supported by the FEED.

The contracts are expected to be awarded by the end of 2012.
