The company would make LNG business a priority, since most of nation’s potential gas supply would be sourced from areas outside Java, PGN’s President Director Hendi Prio Santoso said.

He said: “We are aware that the gas reserves are dwindling and the existing potential sources are located in Masela in the Timor Sea, Tangguh Papua and the Deep Sea areas East Kalimantan.”

PGN has already established a partnership with PT Pertamina and PT PLN for the development of the West Java project. The LNG terminal is estimated to get a maximum of 400 million cubic feet per day in additional gas supply.

The North Sumatra project would be fully developed by PGN and will deliver up to 150 million cubic feet per day.

Currently, PGN operates gas pipelines in Java and Sumatra.
