The new fractionators and condensate stabilization expansion, which are expected to be in service in the second quarter of 2015, will require a $120m investment, according to the company.

The fractionators, along with condensate stabilization facility and rail and truck loading or unloading facilities, will be situated near existing PAA assets in Gardendale.

According to the company, the facility is designed to fractionate NGL Y-Grade and to treat and fractionate off-spec Y-Grade, which is sourced from PAA’s South Texas gathering system and Eagle Ford producing region.

The Purity products, which are expected to produce includes international refrigerant specification grade LE propane, EPA non-commercial grade butane and international specification natural gasoline.

To facilitate loading, unloading and transporting Y-Grade and purity products, PAA’s existing Gardendale truck and rail infrastructure are being enhanced, while it plans to build around 80,000 barrels of pressurized storage to accommodate Y-Grade and purity products.

PAA is also planning to add a third condensate stabilization train to provide about 40,000 barrels per day of incremental capacity to the existing condensate stabilization facility, bringing the total capacity to around 120,000 barrels per day.
