Located on 20,000 acres near Dayton, the wind project will have a total installed capacity of 267MW. The wind farm will produce an average of around 101MW, which is enough to power around 84,000 western Oregon residential customers.

RES Americas Construction, an independent renewable power developer, will serve as the general contractor for the project that will use 116 Siemens Energy’s wind turbines with generating capacity of 2.3MW each.

Once operational in 2015, the project will create 300 construction jobs and will provide 18 full-time jobs.

Portland General Electric stated that the wind farm will help the company satisfy Oregon’s renewable energy standard, which requires the utility to supply 15% of the electricity our customers use from renewable resources by 2015 and 25% by 2025.
