The new turbine has been developed as part of a contract awarded to Power Machines by Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants in 2013 to manufacture and supply power equipment for the 420MW CCPP, which is under construction at Verkhnetagilskaya SDPP.
The turbine is in complies with standards and specifications.
Under the contract, Power Machines will manufacture and supply a 140 MW steam turbine and a 306MW gas turbine, both complete with generators.
Power Machines is responsible for the development of steam equipment for the CCPP while the gas equipment will be manufactured by Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies, which is jointly set up by Power Machines and Siemens AG to develop gas turbines and provide support services.
A gas turbine and generator has already been delivered to the customer in July by Power Machines and the air-cooled turbogenerator, with a capacity of 160MW, has been manufactured ahead of schedule.
The equipment will be delivered to the construction site by the end of 2014.
