Public Power Corporation (PPC) said that Metka was the most competitive bidder for the 427.4MW plant, which will be located in Aliveri, Greece. The project will cost approximately E219 million and should be completed within 27 months of the signing of the contract, which is due to be carried out within the next month.

The deal was awarded by PPC’s board of directors, which also approved plans to award a contract for the long-term maintenance of the project’s gas turbine, for the first six years of its operation, to Alstom Infrastructure for a total price of almost E16.5 million.

PPC has the option to extend Alstom Infrastructure’s contract for six more years with the same terms and conditions.
