The Konstancin-Jeziorna-based firm’s board has approved the investment plan which includes constructing about 5,000km of power lines and upgrading 2,000 existing ones.

As per the plan, the company would construct a 10,400kV transmission line, four 220 kV transmission lines, ten substations, and expand 39 power stations.

Laying power cables to build cross-border lines with neighboring countries and connect new power sources to the grid are also included in the investment plan.

In addition, the company has plans to construct a link with the Lithuanian network so that Poland could import 500MW of power by 2015.

PSE Operator also plans to build additional links with Germany by 2020.
