Through the program, PSE&G plans to invest more than $140m to develop more than 20 solar projects this year with total installed capacity of 30MW and expects to create almost 300 jobs in New Jersey.

The Trenton Solar Farm, featuring 5,496 solar panels will be connected directly to the grid and will produce enough electricity to power about 207 homes.

PSE&G has commissioned SunEdison, a company that provides solar energy services, for the deployment of the Trenton project.

PSE&G’s Solar 4 All program, which involves a total of $515m investment for the development of 80MW of solar projects, got the state regulators’ approval last July. The projects to be developed under the program are expected to produce enough energy to power about 4,900 homes and eliminate 23,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

Al Matos, vice president of renewables and energy solutions at PSE&G, said: “The Trenton Solar Farm exemplifies PSE&G’s environmental commitment and its leadership position in renewable energy.

“This is one of many projects PSE&G is developing as we invest more than $750m to increase access to solar energy in New Jersey.”
