It has been announced that the province of Jiangsu in eastern China is planning to build a pumped-storage power station with a capacity of 1000 MWe. The plant will be located in the Tonggong Mountains, near Yixing City, southern Jiangsu.
The storage facility will be equipped with four 250 MWe pump storage generators. It will be linked to the grid via a 500 kV transmission line. The project is being built jointly by the Jiangsu Power Co, the Jiangsu International Trust and Investment Co, the China National Nuclear Industrial Corp, the East China Power Group Corp and Yixing City Government.
