The consortium will execute the gas gathering package for the project. The package includes development of well pads, flow lines, inter pad lines, transfer lines and overhead lines. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 2014.

Ravindra Kansal, president and CEO of Middle East, Africa and Caspian region at Punj Llyod, said: “Shah gas field development is a prestigious project of Abu Dhabi. The project is very challenging because of the magnitude of gas processed and treating of sour gas with very high sulphur content. This will be one of the largest sour gas processing facilities in the globe.”

On completion, the gas field is expected to pump around 1000mmscfd of feed gas, which after processing will give more than 500mmscfd of fuel gas and 10,000 tons of sulphur per day.

Punj Llyod provides EPC services in oil and gas, petrochemical, and infrastructures sectors, with interests in aviation, defense and marine sectors.
