The Shabeel North well is targeting Upper Cretaceous Jesomma sands following the petrophysical analysis of downhole electrical logs in the Shabeel-1 well 3.5km to south.

The analysis of the Shabeel-1 well indicate a potential pay zone in the Jesomma of up to 12m to 20m of oil and gas shows with an average porosity of 18 to 20%.

The drilling operations of the Shabeel North well have progressed smoothly since spudding and reached a depth of 984m and are on track to reach the target depth of 2,400m on time and budget.

The company will move the rig to Shabeel-1 to flow test the identified Jesomma sands once the completion and testing of the Shabeel North well is done.
