The lower stake comes as the federal hydropower organisation, itself a holding group for hydro firms, is consolidated and reorganised.

Hydro OGK recently completed the first phase of the reorganisation and consolidation with 20 subsidiaries and dependent companies merging with it, but by mid-2008 the organisation should be restructured again into new firms.

The organisation is the largest power generator in Russia in terms of installed capacity, which is 23.3GW.
