The facilities, including a wellhead gathering system, will be built at an expected cost to the company of about $450m.

The facilities will be owned and operated by the company and will tie into its existing gathering system.

In addition, Regency has acquired certain existing midstream assets as part of this Eagle Ford expansion project, which is scheduled for completion by 2014.

The expansion project will include the construction of a 400-mile wellhead gathering system in Webb, Dimmit and LaSalle counties; the installation of 125,000 horsepower of compression; and the construction of four gas and condensate export terminals.

Upon completion, Regency’s entire south Texas system is expected to gather, compress, treat and transport up to one billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and 26,500 billion barrels per day of condensate to downstream outlets.
