Reliance Industries established 1,350 petrol stations throughout India. Of these, 950 were company owned and the remaining were managed by dealers. However, the company-owned petrol stations were shut down due to losses. A review in this regard is to be conducted only sometime later.
Mr Maitra maintained that oil prices in India have to equate the international prices. He also said that the government has to take a decision in this regard at the earliest.
