The Thornton Bank offshore wind power facility, which consists of 48 REpower 6M turbines, has been developed under three construction phases, the company said.
REpower has installed wind turbines at the project for offshore project development company C-Power.
This wind project generates enough clean electricity to cater to the energy needs of around 600,000 people.
Commenting on the project, REpower Systems CEO Andreas Nauen said that Thornton Bank confirms the long-term potential of the market.
"We offer our customers the best technology combined with industry leading experience in building projects in complex and challenging environments," added Nauen.
REpower noted that C-Power’s shareholders include RWE Innogy and EDF EN, while ABB and THV Seawind, and a consortium between DEME and Fabricom, were among the installation partners.
